Flashfood Expands Leadership Team with Key Hires in Product and Technology

PHILADELPHIA, Pa., February 18, 2025 – Today, Flashfood is announcing two new members of its leadership team: Caroline Guenther as VP, Head of Product and Jeano VerSchave as VP, Head of Technology. The duo join Flashfood during a critical period of scaleup for the app-based marketplace, as the company seeks to deliver a better technology and product experience for its growing customer base of retailers and shoppers across North America.
In their new roles, Guenther will lead the product management, product design and lifecycle teams; and VerSchave will lead the software development, software engineering, mobile development and IT teams at Flashfood.
“Flashfood has a really big year ahead. We’re aiming to take a much larger piece of the massive grocery store market in North America. To get there, we need to deliver a frictionless experience for both our shoppers and our retailers,” said Jordan Schenck, President and COO of Flashfood. “Caroline and Jeano are both serious talents in their respective fields and they will bring the product velocity and technical proficiency we need to achieve our mission. In 2025, our focus is elevating every aspect of the product experience at Flashfood – making it easier to post, browse and shop.”
Guenther joins Flashfood with a deep background in building and scaling marketplace products, including Uber, Gopuff and Shef, a delivery service for home-cooked meals. On the Gopuff team, Guenther led the development of Gopuff’s loyalty program and subscription model; and at Uber Guenther was on the Product Operations team and oversaw the launch of Uber Pet. Notably, Guenther was named to the Forbes 30 under 30 Manufacturing and Industry class of 2017 for her work at Cisco. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from University of St. Andrews and Master’s in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University.
“Flashfood is a rare opportunity to drive impact at the intersection of sustainability and e-commerce, which makes it a really exciting opportunity,” said Guenther, Head of Product. “I love the challenge of a marketplace, because it requires tackling the complexities of supply and demand, while creating seamless experiences that accelerate growth and deepen engagement. The passion of the team has been clear from day one and that makes it an exciting and inspiring place to work.”
VerSchave has more than a decade of experience in engineering and technology roles, including leadership roles at arqu and Ocient. Throughout his career, VerSchave has driven accelerated productivity in product software engineering and brings that skillset to Flashfood. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
“There’s an enormous market opportunity for Flashfood and an urgency of mission, both of which are incredibly exciting. My job is to ensure the technology enables the exponential growth we’re capable of,” said VerSchave, Head of Technology. “There’s a great talent base here already and I’m focused on ensuring the strategy and productivity of the team are in step with the scaling of the platform.”
