Flashfood Appoints First-Ever Head of Data and Analytics to Transform Data Offering

With three decades in customer loyalty analytics for retailers and CPG companies, Rosie Poultney plans to build an industry-defining data practice at Flashfood
TORONTO, February 13 – Flashfood, the app for grocery’s best deals, today announced the hire of Rosie Poultney in the newly created executive role of Head of Data and Analytics. As Flashfood looks to grow its customer base exponentially in the next 12 months, Poultney enables Flashfood to lead the industry as a data partner by delivering valuable insights to its retail customers and creating monetization opportunities within food waste solutions.
“Flashfood holds a unique position in the retail industry with a platform that connects a highly-engaged shopper base with close-coded products available at their local stores. Our data provides visibility into what resonates with customers, enabling us to deliver additional foot traffic to our retail partners and more value to our shoppers,” said Rosie Poultney. “We are working on machine learning solutions to bring that visibility to store managers and Flashfood Champions, helping them create the optimum Flashfood assortment and bring more shoppers in store, more frequently.”
Poultney is joining Flashfood with more than three decades of experience in customer loyalty analytics, predominantly in the grocery, retail and financial industries. Most recently, she led Advanced Analytics at Peapod Digital Labs, an ADUSA company. Prior to that she spent nearly two decades at dunnhumby where she worked on accounts like Tesco, Kroger and others to create and embed customer insights into promotions, assortment, pricing, and the development of loyalty propositions.
Said CEO Nicholas Bertram of the appointment, “Flashfood has the potential to solve the connected problems of food waste and food access for the communities our retail partners serve. We can also enhance the existing acquisition and retention efforts of our retail partners by using Flashfood data to connect the grocery industry to this important group of consumers. Rosie has the expertise and the passion for our mission required to build this. I envision the next 24 months she will produce this and even more as she leads our newly integrated data science function to its full potential. This will drive the industry forward by leaps and bounds towards what we all want – food to stay within the food system and on the plates of families across North America.”
